HMS was honoured to take part in the Blue Plaque commemoration for Commander Harold.W. Goulding DSO, RNR organised by his granddaughter, Jill Goulding, who has been determined to place her grandfather's memory and extraordinary achievements on record and in the public domain at last.

Cmdr. Goulding (seen above, front position, in a prototype Mark 8) was in charge of COPP and SBS training on Hayling Island as well as being the most active RN officer in this theatre of operations in WW2. Sadly he died in 1945 and only now are we learning of the true extent of his exploits and valiant service thanks to Jill and her family and friends.

These pictures taken by Jen Kaines at Hayling Island Sailing Club (formerly the training HQ and depot for COPP) and at the Langstone Hotel, which is close by the site of HMS Northney.
