What our sponsors have said:

"Museum Secrets is hugely grateful to the HMS for providing the Blue Launch and her excellent and enthusiastic crew for our filming project. The professionalism of the HMS ensured that the day ran extremely smoothly and I look forward to enlisting your help on future documentaries."

Rebecca Snow, director 'Museum Secrets, Inside The National Maritime Museum'. (Airs on History Television Canada and Yesterday Channel, UK.)

"Just a note to thank HMS so much for bringing such a professional display to the Southampton Maritime Festival. Many of our visitors were fascinated by the WWII canoe and the enthusiasm of the crew added to the display. We would have HMS back at any time!"

Jan Gillespie on behalf of The Southampton Heritage Federation and the Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology

The Historical Maritime Society brought a real flavour of the 18th century to our event at Leeds City Museum celebrating the new Harrison Clock display. For 2 hours, the various members of 'the crew' kept visitors enthralled with tales of life at sea, from a carpenter to a surgeon, accompanied by an impressive range of objects to be explored and detailed knowledge of the period. The authenticity and detail of the costumes worn by the re-enactors added to the whole experience. A pleasure to work with.

“The HMS has been coming now to Whitby for many years in September. It is always a delightful weekend for the staff of the Captain Cook Museum and their visitors. HMS just about takes over the Museum, filling it with life and colour.

There is always something new, and the members engage with our visitors with fascinating information and stories from Britain ’s naval past.

We look forward to the visit every year”

"Over the years we have enjoyed working with the Historical Maritime Society at various maritime-related historical events that we have staged on behalf of our clients. The group are hard-working, authentic, yet easy to work with. Whether crewing a period ship, sailing their 23 foot launch or chatting to visitors, HMS are always a popular addition to our shows".

We are often called on for filming work. Over the years HMS has built up a reputation for quality film work. We can provide accurate clothed people to portray navies (not just the Royal Navy but French and Spanish too) of the Napoleonic period. We can also provide people to portray the Royal Navy of WWII.

We are able to provide acknowledged experts in the Royal Navy of the period to talk about or demonstrate all aspects of shipboard life. Our work has included projects for Channel 4, BBC and the Discovery Channel.
