The Winnie Normandeau draw is the first draw of the day curling year.
Latest news and info
Here is the latest on the teams and schedule for the Normandeau draw.
Team Spriggs outwitted, outplayed and outlasted all comers to win the Winnie Normandeau Trophy 2018. It was a most entertaining series of games that the crowd behind the glass greatly appreciated. The pressure shot to the button for Team Rainbow in the final end was not to be.
Thanks to Fred & Jeanette in the kitchen, Bill Sansom behind the bar and Yves Gauthier and Richard Little for getting things ready.
Note! The club will be using the 5 Rock Rule for the free guard zone this year. It has been used by the pros for a couple of years and is now being adopted by most clubs and in all competitions. Previously no opponent's guard could be taken out until four rocks had been played. In other words the second of the team without the hammer could take out an opponent's guard with his/her first rock. Now no opponent's guard can be taken out until 5 rocks have been played. No opponent's guard can be taken out until the second of the team with the hammer throws their first rock. A team is allowed to take out their own guard at any time. I wonder how long it will take us to remember this !
