Digraph Frequency

The Digraph Frequency generates a table of the frequency of pairs of cipher character.

The frequency count reflects the valid characters for the cipher type selected and will only show letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9) and hash (#). Other punctuation, including spaces, is ignored.

The first letter of each pair, shown on the left of the table, is always at an odd position in the cipher and the second letter, shown at the top, is at an even position. So, cipher text ABCDEF will show a count of three pairs (AB, CD and EF).

The end of the rows and columns displays the total number of pairs found beginning with the row letter label or those found ending with the column label.

In the example shown the letter pair LK is found three times and EE one time. L appears 13 times as the first letter in a pair, and appears 16 times as the final letter of a pair.
