Sushanta Kumar Roy


He was born on 6 November 1980 in Kurigram district of Ulipur upozila. Mother is late Bhoirabi Rani Roy and father is Mohini Kishore Roy. After taking part in the 'Completion of Primary Education' examination in the fifth position, Got the 'fifth place' from Ulipur Upazila in 1989 from the Joykali primary school. Received scholarships in general grade in Class Five and eighth . From Durgapur High School in 1995 S. S. C. & from Kurigram Government College in 1998 H. S. C. Passed the examination with distinction in the first Division. He graduated from Rajshahi University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Botany and a Master's degree in 2002. In the undergraduate examination, he got ‘fifth place’ in the first class and ‘tenth place’ in the first class in the post-graduate examination. In recognition of his good results, he won a gold medal from Rajshahi University. Enter the workplace with. He then taught as a part-time guest teacher in the Department of Botany at Kurigram Government College for two years. Later, after working in the extension department of Bangladesh Water Development Board for two years, he is currently working in Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank. He has been a regular contributor to various local, national, daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly journals, writing sub-editorials, research articles, poems, short stories, rhymes and songs. Wife Shewly Rani Roy and eldest son Additya Kumar Roy are a drawing artist and youngest son Dibbojoti Roy. 


He has recently been nominated as a member of the Advisory Board of "Aami Ananya", a research journal on literature, culture and science published from Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. Laboratory of Amelioration and Protection of Olive Genetic Resources, Olive Tree InstituteUniversity of Sfax, Sfax, Tunisia, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Edited by Karim Ennouri, a professor of science. The joint research work has been published in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Md. Feroz Alam, Department of Botany, Rajshahi University. 


Research: Research on wheat while studying in undergraduate. The subject of the study was "Growth analysis of two wheat varieties (Triticum aestivum L.) under different soil moisture regimes". He later did research on cucumber while studying in postgraduate. The research objective was “In vitro Culture Perspective: Meristem Culture, Micropropagation, Callus Induction and Plant Regeneration in Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). He has also been researching folk-song for a long time.
