Next Steps
Accommodation: Accommodation on campus should be booked using this accommodation link.
Financial Statement & Health Insurance Cover – Non EU Only: On registration at the University of Limerick, all Non-EU students will be required to meet individually with the Immigration Bureau in Limerick city centre. The International Education Division sets up appointments for this meeting and students must pay a mandatory administration fee of €300 to the Immigration Bureau at this appointment. On registration with the Immigration Bureau, a non-EU national receives an Irish Residence Permit card. Students will need proof of financial ability to support themselves for the duration of their study period.
If a student is supporting him/herself financially, they will need to show proof to the Immigration Bureau officer that they have sufficient funds in their bank accounts – at least €1,500 per semester.
If a parent/guardian is supporting the student, the student will need to have a notarised letter of financial support from their parents to bring to their Immigration Bureau appointment. If this is not sent with the application form, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure they bring it with them.
All Non-EU Study Abroad and Exchange students need to extend their general medical insurance to cover their stay while in Ireland.
