Nov 9 SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL (250th) Celebration of Portolá camping in Menlo Park in 1769 - Note: From November 6 to 10, 1769, Captain Gaspar de Portolá and his troop of 63 men camped on the Menlo Park side of the San Francisquito Creek (near Alma Street) after sighting the San Francisco Bay from Sweeney Ridge on November 4th (first sighting by Europeans).
