Health & Well-being

At Coed-Y-Dderwen Community Primary, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff. When children feel safe and secure there is no limit to what they can achieve. We are continually developing our approach to promoting positive mental health. When children look after their mental health, we firmly believe that it can help boost their resilience, self-esteem and confidence. It can also help them learn to regulate their emotions, feel calm, and engage positively with their education - which can, in turn, improve their academic attainment.

We also actively promote physical health, and aim to equip pupils with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions about their health, both now and in the future. By encouraging healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and emotional health and wellbeing, we are aiming to continue to raise standards and improve levels of pupil achievement. We are always encouraging our pupils to be fit and healthy.

Here at Coed-Y-Dderwen, we strongly believe that we all have a role to play in promoting health and wellbeing and by working together we can 'believe, achieve and create our dreams'.
