RIDE TO THE WALL 2019 UPDATE

Post date: Jul 30, 2019 3:51:26 AM

Excitement is building, and the pace of preparation is picking up as we move into the final weeks before the VPCC-VPL ride to the wall kicks off. This update reflects information and key actions that the project team are requesting you respond to quickly to allow for the event details to be finalised.

 JERSEY ORDERING

The project team is pleased to announce a Portal for the ordering of our team Jerseys. The link is available via the Email you have been sent. Size guides are available on the site.

All team riders need to complete entry of their Jersey size AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as there is a non-extendable cut-off date of 10th August.  So do not delay and get your size in NOW!!

EVENT PAYMENT

To be eligible for the event and jersey participants must finalise their event payment, or portion outstanding if they have paid the deposit, as a reminder the full amount cost is $300.

There is also an additional $25 for VPCC membership to cover event insurance. The Club membership portion will be notified separately from the above.

All team riders will need to complete entry payment AS SOON AS POSSIBLE the cut-off date for this is 29th August.

TRANSPORT

The project team is trying to finalise the event transport logistics but has not yet heard from many of our participants.

This is causing delays in our ability to book necessary transport options & vehicles.

This includes formally letting us know if you are riding up separately as we have heard some are doing. There are 3 options available.

PLEASE CHECK THE LATEST EMAIL AND UPDATE US ASAP

 ONE GROUP

As previously advised the project team is in negotiation with our escort regards the potential two ride groups on certain days.

However, participants are reminded we are a team and that this event is not a race. When riding as one group there will be a strict policy of riding at a pace to ensure people are not dropped is maintained.

 VPL FUNDRAISING

As the team is funding its own Jerseys this year there will be substantially less money left from the entrance fee to donate directly to Victoria Police Legacy. As in past years the team has an Everyday Hero fundraising page available at:

 https://give.everydayhero.com/au/team-vpl-2019

In the next week the project team will set up a linked page for each participant and encourage you to share this widely amongst your work & social contacts.
