Ride to the Wall 2017 - Preview

Post date: Jun 22, 2017 5:38:37 AM

The Police Legacy Ride (Ride to the Wall) will be held over 4 days beginning 21 September.  Whereas previous Legacy rides were in NSW and the ACT, this year’s ride will be wholly in Victoria.

The route this year will provide a new challenge for those who have ridden the old route over the last two years. Riding in Victoria will also allow improved logistical support from Vic Police to the riders.

As in previous years the ride will raise money for Police Legacy.

The Victorian ride will start in Ballarat and finish in Melbourne on Sunday 24 September. The route details are:

21 Sept—Team travel to Ballarat

22 Sept—ride from Ballarat via Cressy to Colac (100 Km)

23 Sept—ride from Colac to Sorrento (120 Km)

24 Sept—ride from Sorrento  to St Kilda Rd Police Memorial for a short ceremony (100 Km)

For this year’s ride we have 87 riders and 3 support crew. Training is underway.

The cost for each rider will be $250.

If you are particularly interested in volunteering for support, please contact David Pawley via david.pawley@police.vic.gov.au.
