Updated Files

Just finished uploading revisions to about 25 files and added a few new ones. The revisions are updates that added colored highlights to right hand notes containing fractional beats. These changes are indicated on the covers of the units affected. We've also added new counting syllables to some of the instructional units. These syllables help students keep track of time without using numbers. This seems to help many who were having trouble with learning rhythm.

Here's generally how the syllables work. Syllable and code: "BEAT" >  You say "beat" when a note or rest begins on a beat.    "STAY" St  You say "stay" for each note that continues on a beat. (The finger stays on the key.) You continue to say "stay" on each beat as long as the note lasts.  "AND" &  You say "and" for every note that begins in the middle of a beat or on the second third of a beat.   "A" uh  You say "uh" for every note that begins on the 2nd or 4th quarter of a beat, and for every note that begins on the 3rd third of a beat.  Examples: Notes with 4 pulses "beat a and a" "> a & a"   Notes with 3 pulses "beat and a"  "> & a"  You can see examples of these in many of the units of the Keyboard Prep Course. See Unit PK-32 (below) for more information.
