About Our School

TAE website: http://www.tae.edu.mx/

TAE is a private high school accredited by the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM) with approximately 450 students in grades 10-12. All of our students are Mexican nationals, with a handful of students holding dual citizenship with various other nations in the Americas, Europe and Asia. TAE is consistently ranked by Reforma newspaper as one of the top private high schools in Mexico City.

Our students follow a rigorous curriculum of 14 to 17 year-long subjects, consisting of the UNAM core curriculum and supplemental coursework in English, French, writing and research skills. A two-year course in educational and career counseling culminates in all students selecting an area of specialization in their senior year, in one of four areas: Area I- Architecture, Math and Engineering; Area II- Medicine and Life Sciences; Area III- Business, Law and Social Sciences; and Area IV-Arts and Humanities. As a result, our students tend to have a clear idea of what they want to study and appreciate information about course offerings and unique opportunities within their area of interest, as well as ways they can combine interests across disciplines.

TAE places particular emphasis on the development of the whole person, and believes that each student has unique potential and talents that should be nurtured. TAE encourages students to discover their passion in any of over 30 afternoon workshops offered throughout the year, including theater, Model United Nations, creative writing, science club, and an award-winning chorus.  Our affiliation with the UNAM gives students access to conferences, congresses, and competitions organized by the university´s high school division. Every year, scores of students submit original research projects to these conferences, with dozens selected to present their work.
