These 'WawaColours' are composed so as to tell a story and make a statement, in the decisions made for the photograph. Then these mere photographs are faithfully accurately produced with watercolour paint so as to present the form by conveying the light coming off of the forms.

These everyday images and their innate beauty assert that the common place is where each of us is, yet this is not in anyway commonplace.

David's Oakville Art Society watercolour students have been known to state they now see watercolours everywhere around them in commonplace images and locations.

This is the pinnacle of existence - this common everyday world, that truly seeing reveals the fullness and truly complete existence this is, in this eternal now.

With strong perspective skills and colour matching using a Double Primary System, each painting is a challenge that I meet as I figure out how to paint that image so as to capture the form with the light in the paints on the 140 lb. cold pressed, now usually Arches brand watercolour paper.

David also provides 15 minute live pencil portraits that capture the likeness in the beauty of anyone willing to sit for up to 15 minutes.

David makes money to make animated cartoons, that present #Whole_and_Part_Thinking, as most of this site relates. He completed HYPOTHERMIA / My Kayak Prayer in 2008 with two grants, in 35mm film. Since then he has achieved 16 recognitions worldwide with his HESUS JOY CHRIST animated series.

David also uses his skills as a cook and baker's assistant, to create his watercolours in a kind of "cooking" and "baking", with such inherent timing and hand skills articulating a thorough understanding. He has dug irrigation for over ten years, after working Landscape Construction and Maintenance, after employed as a Landscape Design Technician and obtaining certificates in Irrigation Design. This is also his passion as he is a casual adventure outdoor enthusiast in all weather, shoveling snow and walking from city to city and town to town. Having paddled throughout locally Lake Ontario, Georgian Bay around Honey Harbour, and the Trent Severn Canal, his "Musk Rat" kayak resides at his brother's in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

Autocad was another life of its own. So was Structural Detailing in Concrete and Steel, and that Diploma for that College Course at Texas A&M University Extension Service, at the age of 15.

Gregarious and independent minded, David became proficient in art as a child, and that sparked his ultimate passion – animation. He put art aside to earn a college diploma in structural drafting at the age of 15, and later continued with computer drafting. David returned to the arts in 1990 in order to create animated cartoons. He earned an Honours Diploma in Art Fundamentals from Sheridan College and attended the Classical Animation program. He received two grants which supported the production of his first 35mm animated film, HYPOTHERMIA / My Kayak Prayer. He has since completed seven cartoons which have received 16 festival recognitions worldwide. David’s community mindedness has earned him a 2012 Community Spirit Award Nomination, a Burlington Accessibility Award, and inspired him to establish the Oakville OASIS Drawing Bee in 2010, still going strong. David does not make animated cartoons to make money; he makes money to make animated cartoons!

All of the HESUS JOY CHRIST animation and discussion is entirely original, although closely tied to Matthew's Gospel. This means that it is not in any way endorsed by any church or institution and should be considered in light of the fact that all of this is only my sincere expression of my experience and comprehension.

As of August 20th, 2012, I have begun to read the actual text of Theology of the Body , as referenced on the Theology of the Body by Pope John Paul II page in the menu on the left, and I intend to begin a discussion of it when the discussion of Matthew's Foretold is completed likely this November, 2012 .

An eyewitness tour through the Gospel of Matthew, to a concept thoroughly rooted in faith yet paving the way far beyond anything yet imagined – the concept of marriage. As shows such as Family Guy, after The Simpsons, have established, animation clearly communicates the simple truths of complex dynamic social systems and practices and is uniquely suited to relating these truths. Indeed, since the sinking of the Lusitania, this is animation's destiny ! As shrewd as any two bit advertising executive, HESUS JOY CHRIST puts images to work establishing the divine role of marriage as put forth, as far as I can tell, in Pope John Paul II's 'Theology of the Body'.

Personal concrete references to the life of the filmmaker flesh out the first five episodes of HESUS JOY CHRIST . Matthew's Two Four, based on the twenty-fourth chapter of Matthew, which is about the signs of the end of the age, is the beginning of this series, as the beginning end of this age of HESUS JOY CHRIST. Matthew's One Too ! is from the first chapter of the Gospel of Matthew and lists the matrigeneosophy of the matriarchal influences before continuing on to the story of the conception of marriage. Matthew's Two , relating to the second chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, which is the story of the Wise Men and the escape to Egypt, becomes the story of the marriage relationship preparing to be acknowledged. Matthew's Three Fold, from the third chapter of Matthew, is about an early minister of marriage acknowledging a marriage relationship. Matthew's Foretold, from the fourth chapter of Matthew, is about the temptation endured by the marriage relationship and the influence that relationship has on the community.

The animation is fully coloured simple line drawings, carrying the story that although simple, bears considerable consideration. Approximately 20,000 words have been, or will be, written by the filmmaker discussing the text of each animation alone, and can be read at www.sites.google.com/site/vid932008 .

Matthew's Five's Nine, is based on the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, which includes the Beatitudes, and is currently in production. Two previews may be viewed at www.sites.google.com/site/vid932008 . It may take years to complete this full production that began in 2010. This episode does not have any references to the personal life of the filmmaker.

Biography of the Artist

David Foster achieved an Honors Diploma from Sheridan College's Art Fundamentals Program before being accepted into their Classical Animation Program in 1993. Years later, he completed a six minute 35mm animated film, with the assistance of the Liaison of Independent Film of Toronto – LIFT – and the Ontario Arts Council, entitled HYPOTHERMIA / My Kayak Prayer . Since that film's completion in 2008, he has completed five episodes of the series HESUS JOY CHRIST, taking the Gospel of Matthew, chapter by chapter, and animating how it points to marriage by referring to events in his life. He is currently working on the sixth episode, Matthew's Five's Nine that, although an original retelling of the Beatitudes as well as the rest of chapter five, does not refer to events in his life. This is a more thorough production with an accordingly much longer production time line.
