HAYAK

I AM -  A SMALL MAN

OCCASION'LY POOR

I HAVEN'T DONE MUCH

EXCEPT BECOME SURE

I CAN GO TO TORONTO

AND SIT ON THE SHORE

OF AN OCEAN OF OPULENCE

TO WHICH I'M MOST OBSCURE

AND BY IT I SIT

WHILE BESIDES ME IT STANDS

WE EACH OCCUPYING

SAME ADJACENT LAND

SO I GO TO MY KAYAK

AND TRUNDLE IT DOWN

TO THE VERY SAME SHORE

AND PREPARE FOR 'YOND

IT WILL TAKE 'BOUT AN HOUR

AND IN WINTER MORE

BUT THERE I CAN SIT

AND MOVE 'YOND THAT SHORE

AND ALONG I'M CONTENT

AWARE AS I GO

MY LAP WILL STAY WET

PADDLE DRIPS OCEAN'S GOAL

AN EXPANSE I WILL SET

AHEAD OF MY BOW

LET IT RISE MOVE ALONG

ON THE MARGIN OF CHRIST

WHERE SEA AND SKY SHORE

NEW FOUND LAND QUEST

BUT FURTHER BEYOND

ZULU SKY CALLS

TO THERE I'D GIVE ALL

PAST THE ROCK OF AWES

ANTLANTIC WILL ROLL

GREENLAND PAST VINLAND

ANGLAND FOR ALL

PORTAGING FRANKLY

LIKEN TO 'VOID

OR SAMPLE A LITTLE

NASAL HEADY WINE

ROLLING THROUGH ISRAEL

AVOIDING THE BASH

OF SPIRIT AND TRUTH

MY OWN LIFE TO LAST

GOD BY MY RIGHT

AND ANY LIFE LEFT

BACK TO MY SHACK

WHERE I NOTHING LACK
