Corn seedlings
Chillies or capsicum?

I had some popping corn that sat in the pantry a bit too long and was no longer popping properly. Threw it into the veggie patch. A few weeks later, hundreds = not that I actually counted them = of seedlings popped up.

Not sure whether these are chillies or capsicums. They’ve sprouted from the fermented bokashi waste I’d buried in the pot! Apparently, fermented seeds can and do germinate. A quick search of the web and further enlightenment. Some seeds actually benefit from fermentation and result in enhanced germination. Time will tell whether the bokashi yields are fruitful or be destine for the compost.

The self-seeded ‘poi’ or Malabar spinach, on the other hand, is a climbing success. It has taken root in a pot in which I’d planted a geranium cutting. Poor geranium is in there somewhere.
