Sewai is a type of very fine noodle or pasta used widely in India and the Middle East as well as other countries like Fiji, Mauritius and Africa where there are large Indian populations. It is often referred to as vermicelli and is made from rice, wheat or some other kind of grain. It is used in both sweet and savoury dishes.

Sewai is available in most Indian shops in Adelaide, labelled as vemicelli (or roasted vermicelli).
