FAQ

Is my Flock City chick a rooster?  Email us some pictures and/or video so we can help you determine if your chicken is indeed a rooster.  If we do determine rooster, we will help you with next steps. Worth noting- it's really hard to determine definitively until the chicks are around 10 weeks old.

When can I add treats?  Give your chicks at least a week of adjusting to your brooder and the food you're providing before introducing treats. If after a week all systems appear to be functioning normally, you can add small amounts of grubs, veggies and fruit.

How can I keep my chicks from getting bored in the brooder? Take them outside for field trips on a warm, dry day! Make sure you stay close or have a protected space for them to be in as they are very vulnerable when young. If the weather is terrible, bring some of the outside inside to the brooder. A small tub with some soil goes a long way to keep chicks entertained. Adding a small roost bar for them to practice on is also a way to bust boredom.
