Brooder Rental Kits
Check out our Brooder Rental Kits!
$40 for 4 weeks or $60 for 6 weeks
Each Brooder Rental Kit includes:
Chick Heat Plate- a heat plate is much safer and more energy efficient than a heat lamp and bulb
Chick-sized Waterer- an enclosed waterer stays cleaner lowering the maintenance for the brooder keeper
Chick-sized Feeder- with a flip top making it easy to add water and stir when using whole grain chick feed
Colorful carry bag made by my most crafty mom :)
What's not included in the Brooder Rental Kit?
Brooder box- this can be as simple as a cardboard box or as sophisticated as a wooden brooder. Cardboard is great because you can add more cardboard to expand the space as they grow. A cardboard brooder can also be composted when no longer in use.
Brooder Bedding Material- we recommend pine shavings. Other options are straw or pressed pellets. We do not recommend cedar shavings.
Chicks! You can find those here.
How does it work?
To reserve a Brooder Rental Kit, include that you'd like one with your chick order email. A 4-week rental kit is great for chicks coming from the same order. If you're getting chicks from two different orders, a 6-week rental is needed to ensure that the youngest chicks have access to the heat source for the first four weeks. Brooder Rental Kits will be be picked up with your chicks at Left Field Garden Supply. It's a good idea to have your brooder box ready with bedding prior to picking up your kit and chicks. Your kit will come with a "return by" date. Simply clean the equipment, pop it back in the bag and drop it off at Left Field Garden Supply during their regular business hours.
There is a limited number of Brooder Rental Kits so it is super important to return them on time to avoid the $25 late fee and to have them ready to go for the next user. Thanks!
Take a peek inside the bag
to find a heat plate, chick sized waterer and a chick sized feeder.
The top of the heat plate is the cozy looking hen
and the bottom is where you'll find the tabs for the adjustable legs.
The yellow end should be inserted by pushing the tab in. Repeat for all 4 legs.
Adjust the height as needed as the chicks grow!
