Randomly generates a new quote each day, based on a stored set of templates which are modified with a set of adjectives, verbs, and nouns

The Story Behind the Project

The idea for this project came entierly out of the blue, and my immediate second thought after I conceived of it was "I know exactly who would love this". So I built it and gave it to one of my favorite Staff members on campus who was leaving at the end of the year as a going away gift. Sure enough, I could hear him laughing in his office for several minutes after I gave it to him. I built another one for my Uncle, who will send me a new quote it generates that he likes every few weeks.

Features

• Uses an RCWL-9169 RF motion detector to generate a new quote after 6 hours of no motion (typically "overnight")

• Can also manually generate a new quote with the button

• Storage space for approximately 700 nouns, 700 adjectives, 700 verbs, and 40 templates, giving approximately 300 billion different possible quotes

• Some examples of generated quotes:
