Dunton Bassett Posada Journey for 2023 begins.....follow the unfolding story
Day 1: Sunday 3rd December 2023
This afternoon Mary, Joseph and the donkey travelled to Dunton Bassett Church to the Dunton Bassett Community Singers’ concert.
Day 2: Monday 4th December 2023
Today Mary Joseph and the donkey have been to a garden centre - Jess knew all about Posada as she hosted when she was at primary school - and then there was a visit to see John in his care home.
Day 3 Tuesday 5th December 2023
Mary and Joseph had a good night’s sleep under the Christmas tree
This morning they went to Walton Wrigglers where everyone enjoyed Becca reading the Christmas story
Then they went to Market Harborough where they were looked after by Isla and Jacob
Everyone really enjoyed the day!
Day 4 - Wednesday 6th December 2023:
Janie a member of the Dunton goes crafty group who kindly made our wonderful knitted nativity figures, took Mary, Joseph and Donkey on a trip to the Lutterworth Town Band weekly rehearsal! With his large ears donkey found the trumpet VERY loud but loved eeoring to the Christmas tunes!
Day 5 - Thursday 7th December 2023:
Mary, Joseph and the donkey were treated to more music in a Dunton Bassett home, where Donkey had his own stable filled with hay and has learned to tilt his ears to hear the music more clearly!
Lost in time.........Mary, Jospeh and the donkey made a detour but were looked after by a family using an Advent Calendar to count the days until Christmas. Then they went to the Cosby Yarn Bomb where they saw some nativity figures.
Mary and Joseph travelled back from Cosby to be hosted in another cosy home in Dunton Bassett.
Joining in with the Christmas light switch on in Dunton Bassett
Yesterday Mary Joseph and the donkey reached another home in Dunton Bassett and are loving the view through the window of the village Christmas Tree.
The Posada journey continues....as Mary and Joseph visit Dunton Bassett Church for the Open the Book Christmas Story with Dunton Bassett School and then went home with John and Claire.
Mary, Joseph and the Donkey are currently waiting at Dunton Bassett Railway Station for the next part of their journey......
After a draughty wait at the railway station only to discover there was no room on the train, after a long walk Mary Joseph and the doneky are enjoying a warm by the fire.
17th December - our posada is being hosted tonight by another Dunton Bassett family. Donkey is very happy with his bed of straw.
Mary, Joseph and the doneky have made it to Oakberry Farms and enjoyed being in the shop looking at all the Christmas decorations and ofd course a lovely tree! Then they came upon a nativity scene and looked on in awe and wonder.....it was like looking in a mirror.
Stanley enjoyed welcoming Mary, Joseph and the donkey. I think Mary quite fancied a ride on the tractor though!
