Coronavirus - Safer Behaviours (February 2022)

Whilst the government have lifted all legal restrictions we now have a personal and corporate responsibility to be considerate of others, whose circumstances and vulnerabilities we do not know.

The basic parameters of hand sanitising and ventilation remain in place and we would encourage people to continue to be considerate of others.

From the latest government document 'Living with Covid', there are recommendations for safer behaviours detailed below.

Individuals can still reduce the risk of catching and passing on COVID-19 by:

a.  Getting vaccinated;

b.  Letting fresh air in if meeting indoors, or meeting outside;

c. Wearing a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces, especially where you come into contact with people you do not usually meet, when rates of transmission are high;

d.  stay at home if you are unwell;

e.  Taking a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms, and staying at home and avoiding contact with other people if you test positive; and

f.   Washing your hands and following advice to ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’.

 As our churches are now much fuller and we, unlike other larger churches do not have space for social distancing, I would encourage you to consider others before yourself.

Sanitising hands is still recommended and hand sanitizer will continue to be made available both on entry and exit from the church and before and after receiving Communion.

We will continue to pass the Peace by a friendly wave for now.

Holy Communion will continue to be administered in both kinds by intinction.

Let us continue to keep one another safe and be considerate of others as we work together as the Body of Christ in this Benefice, supporting one another with love and compassion.

Services will continue to be streamed for those who prefer to stay at home.
