Mirrlees Watson and Co. Glasgow built 50 female tanks; 4651 - 4700 (S83.p16)

MK IV Supply tanks:

A number of mark IVs were completed as supply tanks. It was possible to convert these vehicles back into fighting tanks and this happened on at least one occasion, for more details see notes on Mk IV supply tanks.

The Supply tanks were probably many of those numbered 6041+, 6100+ and 8100+

Tanks in the 6000, 6100, 8100 and 4500 series were apparently mostly completed as supply tanks (except 6001 – 6020 and some twenty of the 6000 series with higher serial numbers).

A number of fighting tanks were also converted to supply tanks by Central Workshops.

The Top Tower tanks, which were fitted with special apparatus to pull sledges were designated as Supply tanks, they had female sponsons and were used as fighting tanks on occasion.
