Collaboration

I believe that collaborating with people with complementary expertise in relevant areas is essential for achieving the ambitious interdisciplinary goals of life improvement science. I would therefore like to invite anyone interested in collaboration with me and my group to reach out, so that we can consider the possibility. I am most interested in fundamental questions whose answers will lay the scientific foundation for promoting and supporting effective well-doing. I believe that basic research on these questions should be conducted in synergy with applied research on developing and evaluating digital interventions. You can read more about my ideas in this preprint: Toward a Science of Effective Well-Doing.

Several models of collaboration are possible:

  • If you are interested in the possibility of joining my group (as a postdoc or PhD-student), we could write a grant together or I could support you in applying for fellowships so that you could work on a project of your choice (within the bounds of our mutual interests). If you are interested in this, it would be best to get started well in advance as it can take over a year to get proposals put together and then bring in the funding!

  • If you are interested in collaborating on a new project as partners, we could also apply for funding for that together or just do it, if the project doesn’t require additional funding.

  • You can inquire about becoming a collaborator on one of our current projects (regardless of seniority or lack thereof).

  • You can invite me to give input on a project that you are currently working on. But please note that my current projects are already taking up virtually all of my time and capacities.

I look forward to hearing from you - and will follow up when I get to it. This might take some time because I allocate only a very small proportion of my time to reading and answering emails.

If we discover that our interests align sufficiently, it will be a great benefit to both. And if not, then we will only lose a small amount of time. So don’t hesitate to reach out if you think working together might be a good idea!
