Falk Lieder, Ph.D.

I lead the Rationality Enhancement Group at the MPI for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen. I am a faculty member of the IMPRS for Intelligent System, the CS@max planck graduate school, the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience PhD program, the cluster of excellence Science of Intelligence, the Tübingen AI center, and the local Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience.

Before that I did my PhD in Tom Griffiths' Computational Cognitive Science Lab at UC Berkeley.

I am an Effective Altruist. I have signed the Giving What We Can pledge. In 2021 and 2022 my donations went to 80,000 hours, the Forethought Foundation for Global Priorities Research, and the Happier Lives Institute. In addition, I support Effective Thesis as a mentor.

My mission is to lay the scientific foundations for helping people cultivate the motivation and capacity to make the world a better place.
