The Deposit Fire Department practices fast attack firefighting in order to minimize risk to life and property.  During firefighting operations the priority is on life safety at all times.  Crews work to minimize property damage from heat, smoke and water.

The Deposit Fire Department providers a wide range of technical rescue services.  These services include but are not limited to vehicle extrication, low angle rope rescue, swift water rescue and wilderness search and rescue.   

A hazardous materials incident occurs when a chemical or other substance that may harm people's health has been released into the air, water, or ground. Hazardous materials include explosives, flammable and combustible substances, poisons, and radioactive material. 

The Deposit Fire Department is a proactive department.  The best way to try and ensure safety is through prevention.  Our firefighters are active throughout the year offering fire prevention demonstrations and public education.  They can also be found throughout our community updating department pre-plans and conducting training exercises.  Pre-incident planning and training exercises allow our firefighters to be more familiar with specific buildings and neighborhoods within our community in the event that an emergency occurs there.  

The Deposit Fire Department provides E.M.S. support to Eastern Broome Emergency Services which handles the pre-hospital emergency medical care across our district.
