How To Become A Member

The Deposit Fire Department is always looking for volunteers who want to help serve our community.  If you are interested in becoming a member please contact us!

Don't think you could be an Interior Firefighter?  There are many other important jobs within the department that don't include fighting fires.  We have positions for Emergency Vehicle Operators, Fire Police, Emergency Medical Services Personnel and Clerical Staff.  Please feel free to contact us to see how you could become part of our team!

The first step to become a member of our department is picking up an application.  Applications can be picked up from our station located at 130 Second Street in the Village of Deposit.  The station is not staffed 24 hours a day.  The best time to meet a member at the station to inquire about membership is on Monday between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.  You may also call our station and leave a message with your name and number requesting membership information.  All members of the department must live or work within our service area.  After completing an application, prospective members must pass a back ground check that is required by law.  After passing the back ground check, the application goes to the Deposit Fire Department Inc. Board of Directors for review.  After being reviewed, the application goes to the Deposit Fire Department General Membership and the Village of Deposit Board for approval.  Both groups must approve the application for membership.
