NY Alert

New York Alert is a web-based portal that can notify you of things such as severe weather, public health emergencies, department of transportation alerts, and amber alerts. 

The New York Alert website contains critical emergency-related information including instructions and recommended protective actions. Concurrent with the information posted on the website, the same information will be disseminated through various communications systems such as email and cell phones to those who sign up for the notifications.

We encourage all New Yorker's to sign up for NY-Alert; you can receive warnings and emergency information via the web, your cell phone, your home phone, email and other technologies.  Signing up is free.  After signing up for New York Alert you can modify what type of information you want to receive.
