Welfare

Welcome and introduction

Ashbourne & District Swimming Club work in accordance with the Swim England Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures, where all child and adult swimmers involved in the club have the right to stay safe and have fun. Amongst other things sport develops physical skills, self-esteem and the ability to be a team player, as well as providing an opportunity to achieve individual success.

The Policies and Procedures for Child Safeguarding can be downloaded from here

Club Welfare Officer

Hi, My name is Louisa, Ashbourne Swimming Club’s Welfare Officer. The club is committed to providing a child focused approach in which we promote a culture of listening to our swimmers. I am your first point of contact if you are a swimmer, parent/carer, coach or volunteer with a safeguarding concern or question. You can also speak to one of the club’s coaches, Head coach Ian or can direct concerns to the county or regional welfare officers (see contact details below).

Ashbourne Swimming Club is committed to following Swim England child and adult safeguarding policies and procedures as set out in the WavePower document, which can be viewed here. Updated 2024. The guidance is useful for our young people/children, parents/carers and coaches/volunteers.

Everyone has a part to play in ensuring our swimmers are safe and that swimming for the club contributes to positive mental health and wellbeing.
