BRAKE BLEEDING PASSAT B6

Passat B6 Brake bleeding Procedure.

VW 501 14 ) brake fluid. You will need about 1.5 litres.

You can do this on your own with a suitable brake bleeding kit, but it is easier

with a helper to work the brake pedal whilst you do the bleeding.

Press brake pedal to maintain pressure on the system.

Open a caliper bleed nipple.

Press the brake pedal to the floor.

Close the bleed nipple with the pedal held down.

Release brake pedal slowly upwards.

VW recommend completing this sequence at least 5 times per brake caliper.

DON’T FORGET….KEEP TOPPING UP THE MASTER CYLINDER.

If the bleed process is part of a brake fluid change. Continue bleeding each caliper until the fluid being removed is obviously new looking.

Bleed the brakes in the following order;

1. Front left brake caliper

2. Front right brake caliper

3. Rear left brake caliper

4. Rear right brake caliper
