Fashion Around the Globe

Italy

With all this free time, I've been able to reminisce on my trip to Italy a couple summers ago. I remember observing the people walk by as my family and I sat at restaurants eating homemade pasta with a fresh salad on the side. I noticed all the color and patterns incorporated in their outfits, whether they were tourists or locals. Walking down through narrow streets in Rome eating my gelato, I saw this window from a store that was spelled similar to my name and had to take a picture. It was later when I looked at the photo I had taken, that I noticed the clothing in it and thought how fashionable the whole look was, and that was the first time fashion truly caught my eye. Of course growing up in Manhattan I had noticed fashion before, but it was interesting noticing it in another country that consists of the top fashion cities in the world.

Greece

Due to all that is happening in the world at the moment, I wish I was able to time travel back to summer where I was exploring the world with my family. Simply walking around beautiful Santorini, Greece admiring and taking in the unique culture and fashion. My eyes were simply drawn to the clothes the locals were wearing, as it is very different to the basic Brandy Melville I see on a daily basis. Their clothing was filled with bright colors. One thing I loved about the Greek style, are the patterns I observed. I was also very drawn to the jewelry being sold at almost every corner. I was so in love with this one bracelet, I just had to buy it. It had greek hieroglyphics on it, I had never seen anything like it. If you've never been to Santorini, I highly recommened you go someday if you get the chance. I am so fortunate that I was able to go and check it off my bucket list, as I learned so many new things on that trip.By SamApril 13, 2020
