Compost Center

The Wallingford Compost Center located at 157 John St. and operated by Harvest New England, is a wonderful resource for property owners. Residents can dispose of various yard wastes at the center and then take some of the finished compost and mulch for their gardens.

The following types of residential yard waste are accepted at the Compost Center free of charge:

- Brush shorter than 4 feet long and less than 6 inches in diameter
- Leaves
- Christmas Trees

The Compost Center charges a disposal fee for larger sized brush, tree branches, and logs.

The Compost Center is open at the following times:

- March 17 - March 31
  - Mon, Thurs, Sat: 8 am - 4 pm
- April 1 - November 30
  - Mon, Tue, Wed: 8 am - 3 pm
  - Thurs: 8 am - 5 pm
  - Fri: 8 am - 3 pm
  - Sat: 8 am - 2 pm
- December 1 - January 15
  - Mon, Thurs, Sat: 8 am - 4 pm
