Quinnipiac River

Runs through Wallingford from Meriden to North Haven.

Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing.

Access Point #1

Southeast corner of Prageman Park. Look for the concrete blocks at the edge of the woods and follow the trail down to the river bank.

Access Point #2

300 Church St. (Rt. 68). Go to left (west) side of Westbrook Lobster parking lot. Look for a small path through the wooded area. The trail is a bit overgrown, but access is still possible.

Access Point #3

Across from Dunkin Donuts on Rt. 150. Enter the Yalesville Square apartment complex and follow the road to the end. Take a left and park on the gravel parking area. Look for a dirt path to the river bank. Be careful, as this access point is a bit steep.

Access Point #4

River Rd. next to Amphenol Corp. Look for the small dirt parking area close to the Wallace Dam. Follow the easily visible path to the river. This a also a popular trout fishing spot.

North Farms Reservoir

Leigus Rd. off of Rt. 68.

Fishing and boating (electric motors) permitted.

MacKenzie Reservoir

East Center St. Scenic overlook at west and east ends, dock near the central part.

Fishing permitted from dock.

Community Lake

At Lakeside Park. Intersection of Hall Ave. and River Rd. From the parking lot, follow the paved path to the other side of the baseball field. Look for the dirt path leading to the lake.

Pine Lake

North Branford Rd. close to Rt. 68. Look for rocky road next to roadside barrier.

Fishing.

Wharton Brook Pond

At Wharton Brook State Park. Route 5 near North Haven town line.

Pond and brook fishing. Stocked with trout periodically between Opening Day and Memorial Day.

Swimming permitted in pond.

Lucky Pond (Galko Farm Pond)

Cheshire Rd. near 3-way intersection with School House Rd.(Look for gravel road

leading to a parking area at Butterfly Meadow. Go to the right side of

the parking lot when you come in. You should see a trail leading to the pond.

Ice Skating in winter months.
