Handcrafted Tours

Though initially Tours will be put together on a "first come, first served" basis, eventually we hope to be able to craft Tours to individual tastes.

Some examples of these Tours might include:

Seasonal Tour - apple orchards in Sept, pumpkin patches in Oct, heritage turkeys in Nov, Christmas tree farms in Dec...

Harvest Tour - organized along the lines of a "crop mob" where Volunteers show up just in time for the harvest!

Bicycle Tour - passing through many Farms (~100 miles apart) on Tour navigated strictly by bicycle...

Variety Tour - exploring a variety of agricultural sectors (e.g. produce, grains, dairy, livestock, tractors, draft animals, &c...)

Giddyup Tour - an accelerated program for Volunteers eager to get a job as a Ranch Hand, Farm Operator, or Farm Manager...

St. Isadore Tour - prioritizing Farms in most need of help in honor of St. Isadore (patron Saint of farmers)...

State Tour - for those who are interested in seeing all regions of the Show-Me State (including future Missouri Congressmen!)...

Commodity Tour - for experienced Volunteers who know what they want to raise (e.g. corn, wheat, cattle), but would like more info...

Vintage Tour - visit more accommodating hosts like wineries, historic B&B's, fishing & hunting lodges, and established farms & ranches...

Micro Tour - for city folks who can only get away for a weekend at a time...

Musicians Tour - local musicians will play weekly farm/band benefit concerts at/near host farms (and help out w/ chores on days off!)

Century Tour - explore some of the over 7,500 Missouri Century Farms (farms over 40 acres & in the same family for over 100 years!)...

Vacation Tour - for those who'd like to see the farms (but already put in a full work week), we offer recreational Tours for $100/day...

Old Timers Tour - the average age of American farmers is 55...  this tour aims to pair junior Mules with wiser senior farmers...

Tour de Misery - a tour through the roughest, hardest, meanest parts of the State of Missouri... (don't worry - I've done it!)  (-;

The Greater Tour - a tour of farm operations across Missouri as well as her neighbor states (IA, IL, KY, TN, AR, OK, KS, and NE)!

* we are also working on an "Accredited Tour" that we hope will be recognized by local universities such that volunteers get course credits for participating!
