I Created My Own Job

I created my own job at Kennisbank Filantropie. I sent an email to a few NGOS. Kennisbank Filantropie answered, I talked, and I became the data-manager there. I worked there till I left for the Pacific as a digital nomad in November 2013. It was a parttime job and with this I seized the opportunity to start my own business besides this job.

Kennisbank Filantropie In Hilversum

Kennisbank Filantropie is successor of Coins for Care. In the Database of Kennisbank Filantropie I can find almost every NGO and equity fund in The Netherlands. For public, the NGOs are displayed on Goede doelenmonitor. Kennisbank Filantropie was when I was working there renting space and facility at Independer in Hilversum. It was situated in a beautiful old school building. Once a month a team had to make lunch. When it was the turn of the team of Kennisbank Filantropie I was the cook and had help of the rest of the team to cook for all the workers in the building. It was a success, because later when my team of volunteers sat for dinner, the once set apart for dinner where less than expected.

My Tasks At Kennisbank Filantropie As A Data-Manager

As a data-manager I was responsible for feeding data to the director, clients, and other employees. With managing this Big Data the clients were better helped at choosing the right NGOS for their clients. Also I was responsible to feed other employees with what was missing in the data. And with this they could go back to the NGOS and ask them to fill in the missing data.

NGO Big Data

The data wasn’t anymore just Big Data, but data with meaning. And with that it was possible to make the data visible and rate based on the Prediction Performance Scan. The filling of the data was also reached with the help of a few volunteers, who dedicated evening(s) of their time to contact the NGOS or do data-entry with the data provided by the NGOS to fill the database. I was responsible for making the plan for hiring, managing, and setting the tasks for the volunteers.
