Bow Badgers 2 Woodford Rovers 2

Badgers turned up with 11 players to Victoria Park to find a muddy pitch and an opposition that looked much younger and fitter but not as good looking. Woodford were in form but it was Badgers who started the brighter. A sweet ass move cumulating in Badgers taking the lead. The goal was reminiscent of Cambiasso for Argentina in the World Cup of Kickball in 2006 with a Sunday League twist. This time there were less passes but good ones all the same. After some good build up play Read found Marshall out wide on the left who picked out Richards with a deep cross. A cushioned header found Leonard who dispatched with his swinger. 1-0 to the boys in black and white. Badgers continued to look dangerous but Woodford hit back before half time when a swirly wirly wind caused Samkin some trouble inbetween the Badgers’ posts. He managed to palm the floated freekick onto the bar but a chap in Orange was there to pounce. 1-1. It remained that way until half-time where some great tactical advise was given. Woodford had the majority of possession in the second half but Badgers had the better opportunities. Harding finished when Nose Bleed Read couldn’t but Badgers still looked like they might hold the lead until the final whistle. With 5 minutes to go, a handball decision went against Woolfman. It was a tad harsh but made up for a few decisions that went against Woodford. The free kick was despatched and honours were even. 2-2. 1-1 in points. Kudos to the Badgers’ D-Fence.
