Shimizu Group was launched on April 1st, 2018 in the Department of Applied Physics and Physico-Informatics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, Japan.

  • Prof. Shimizu delivered an invited talk in 1st IMS-FHI Symposium held Online on July 12th, 2021.


  • 4 undergrad students join the group on April 1st, 2021.


  • Prof. Shimizu delivered an invited talk in The 3rd Workshop of the Reaction Infography (R-ing) Unit held Online on December 10th, 2020.


  • A paper based on the collaboration with NIMS, Osaka University, and Autonomous University of Madrid has been accepted.

  • New members join the group on April 1st, 2020. We are now a group of 7 grad students and 4 undergrad students.


  • 4 undergrad students graduated with Bachelor of Engineering on March 23rd, 2020. One goes to industry and the other three continues to Keio graduate school.



  • 3 undergraduate students join the group in December , 2019.


  • Prof. Shimizu and Aoi Takekoshi (undergrad student) presented the panel in Keio Technomall on December 13th, 2019.


  • Prof. Junqial Wu of UC Berkeley visited our group on December 12th, 2019.


  • Yuhi Shoji (grad student), Shunichiro Mabuchi (grad student), and Aoi Takekoshi (undergrad student) presented their results in the poster session at the Industry-UCB-UEC-Keio workshop 2019 held in Keio Hiyoshi campus on December 10-11th, 2019. Prof. Shimizu worked as a co-chair of the workshop.


  • Prof. Shimizu delivered an invited talk in OKINAWA COLLOIDS 2019 held in Okinawa on November 5th, 2019.


  • Shunichiro Mabuchi (grad student) and Kazuma Matsui (undergrad student) presented their results in the poster session of the Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science 2019 held in Tsukuba on October 28th,2019.


  • Prof. Robert Carpick of University of Pennsylvania visited us.
