T-MODAL

Tier Modal

The concept of tier modal is that a member can have access to various transportation options based on their tier membership.

MODAL OPTION: Bicycle Sharing

There are numerous companies already that have established bicycle sharing models. This would be a base level option for the T-Modal membership.

Divvy Bikes has been operating in Chicago since 2013. It operates 5800 bikes at 580 stations throughout Chicago and two adjacent suburbs. (Source: Wikipedia)

MODAL OPTION: Racine Bus System

The idea is to work out an agreement with the local bus companies in order to allow Tier Members to ride the local buses for free in exchange for a monthly lump sum payment from T-MODAL to the bus system.

The current transit routes covered by the RYDE system are viewable (click here)

MODAL OPTION: Trains

There are two train systems available.

The idea would be to try to negotiate deals for Tier Members. If not possible, then provide members with links in the T-MODAL app to quickly obtain tickets.

1st: AMTRAK Hiawatha. The station is in Strutevant, WI and runs between Milwaukee and Chicago. The current schedule is located (click here).

2nd: Chicago METRA (UP-N) in Kenosha (click here for route). The Coach USA bus connects from Racine to Kenosha METRA station for only $2.50.

MODAL OPTIONS: Shared Electric Cars

A small number of shared electric cars would be made available at key locations for Tier Members for a surcharge per use. The eventual goal of these vehicles would to become driverless shuttles that would balance themselves out depending on demand usage.

MODAL OPTIONS: Ride Share Companies (Uber/Lyft)

Ride share companies would be tied into the Tier-Modal App to provide transportation and mobility for Tier-Modal customers.
