Initial Business Plan

CREATION, IMPLEMENTATION AND INTEGRATION OF A LOCAL/REGIONAL SMART TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM BASED ON SHARED TIERS OF RESOURCES

THE TRUE COST OF DRIVING

AAA's John Nielsen shines some light on just how expensive it can be to own and operate a car.

This is the economic cost to which we will be providing a service against. The goal of the T-MODAL app is not to replace all automobile travel, rather to target alternatives for local travel to reduce the cost per mile of travel. In this area we can be cost competitive against traditional automobile travel.

INITIAL BIKE HUBS FOR LOCAL TRAVEL

We would create local bike hubs at the following locations:

    • Foxconn Campus
    • Gateway Technical College - SC Johnson iMET Center
    • Sturtevant Train Station
    • Renaissance Center
    • Gateway Technical College - Racine Campus
    • 4 Downtown locations (TBD)
    • West Racine (TBD)
    • Racine Transit Center

The following table showcases one example of how having access to a bike may be a viable option for someone going to lunch from either Foxconn Campus or the iMET center ... instead of driving a car

CONNECTIONS

  • We would work with Racine Ryde to establish a coordinated ride program for users including better coordination with Amtrak and Kenosha METRA services. This would include potential bulk price reductions for members in order to increase utilization of the bus system.
  • We would coordinate with Amtrak and METRA to develop within the T-MODAL app the ability to purchase tickets (one stop shopping).
  • We would coordinate with COACH USA bus services for ticket pricing and purchasing within the T-MODAL app.
  • We would coordinate with either UBER or LYFT to determine which would provide a better price service for members with direct ties within the app.
  • We would check to see if there would be any member benefit to include local taxi services.

LOCAL CARS ON DEMAND

The viability of placing a small number of electric cars on demand at nodal points within the network would be investigated to provide members with access to local automobile travel
