Dr. Carvalho graduated in Food Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2007). She is currently a food engineer in PAEPE career (Professional to Support Teaching and Research), State University of Campinas. Her PhD was in Food Science. She has experience in Food Science and Technology on the following topics: bioprocesses, immobilization (microencapsulation), determination of sugars, enzymatic analysis, minimal processing and microbiology.

Dr. Costa started her career at Unicamp as food technician in 1975. She graduated in Food Engineering in 1982 from the Faculty of Food Engineering, UNICAMP. Obtained a Master's degree in 1986 and a Doctorate in 2000 from the Faculty of Food Engineering, UNICAMP. She retired in 2009 at the Faculty of Food Engineering (Unicamp), continuing as a research collaborator to date. She has always worked in research and development of bioprocesses (chromatographic analysis, production and purification of enzymes, production of pro- and prebiotics, bioethanol production, etc.).
