March 24, 2012 Music/Dance Program at the BB&T Performing Arts Center in Luray, VA.

7:30 to 9:30 pm.

Our group looked terrific in costume. Thanks Dave, Char, Dan, Christie Anne, Amanda, Ann,

and Dennis for a wonderful performance! We managed to get 5 people from the audience

up on the dance floor out of a pretty small crowd.

April 28, 2012 Square Dance Program in Luray in conjunction with Luray's Arbor Day Celebration.

3:00 to 5:30 at the Trackside Theater, off Main St. in downtown Luray,

acrosss the street from the movie theater.

An adventure in dancing for Dave, Char, Amanda, Stacey, and Lesley & me.

Up to 20 people joined in the fun.

May 4, 2012 "School Day" at the McDowell 150th reenactment weekend.

9:00 to 2:30 behind the church when you first enter McDowell, VA.

The Minstrels played and we got in one or two dances with all ages from pre-K to high school.

We did Soldier's Joy, the Patty Cake Polka the most, the Gothic Dance, and The Sweets of May.

The teachers and kids all left with smiles on their faces.

May 5, 2012 Civil War Dance at the McDowell 150th reenactment weekend.

7:00 to 9:00 in the post office parking lot, Main St. McDowell, VA.

The Minstrels can run speakers off a marine battery which came in handy since

there were no electric outlets. The all-day rain finally let up to let us have a dance.

We had up to 40 reenactors, residents, and tourists watching and up to 16 dancers.

May 19, 2012 Music/Dance Program at Luray Caverns in Luray, VA.

5:00 to 8:00 pm. Our dance group is scheduled from about 6:30 to 8:00.

Dancing with Generals R.E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson was a big thrill, not to mention

all the visitors lured by the music.

Families from distant states as well as England and Asia enjoyed the program.

It was very interesting to see ladies in 'saris' doing Civil War dances.

Big thanks to Ann for joining in and helping direct the dancers.

June 2, 2012 Music/Dance Program in conjunction with Court and Market Days, Harrisonburg, VA.

11:30 to 12:15 in the Entertainment Tent

This went extremely well! Thanks Ann, Dave, Char, Amanda, Penny and Stacey

for dancing with various people and helping them with the moves.

Good audience participation on 5 dances. We extended the time to almost 12:50.

June 9, 2012 Music/Dance Program in conjunction with the Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Foundation's

signature event at Cross Keys Battlefield. 6:00 to 7:30 pm. along the fence line in the field.

Great participation from Ann, Dennis, Amanda, Penny, Stacey, Dan, Christie Anne, Dave and Char.

We managed to snag passerbys, and making up dances on the fly as people joined the set was fun.

July 14, 2012 Civil War Barn Dance in conjunction with the Williamsport, MD reenactment event.

8:30 to 11:00 pm. in the Springfield Barn.

Best event yet. Thanks to Dave & Charmaine, Mike & Loretta, and Audrey & Robin.

Robin developed a "crush" on one particular dance partner.

Artillery night-firing at the intermission was a special treat!

August 18, 2012 Civil War Ball in conjunction with the Luray Caverns reenactment weekend.

Luray, VA; 8:00 to 10:45 pm.

We had about 60 people in sets for the Virginia Reel. Thanks to Dave & Charmaine, Dennis,

Michael, Dan & Christie Anne, Kaitlyn & Evan, Stacey, Amanda, Audrey & Robin, Mike & Loretta.

September 19, 2012 Dance demonstration with audience participation at the Samuels Public Library

in Front Royal, VA. 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Thanks to Dave & Charmaine, Amanda, Dan & Christie Anne, Larry & Linda, Audrey & Robin,

Mike & Loretta. Fun and educational for the Front Royal crowd of 40 or so.

September 22, 2012 Civil War Dance in conjunction with the Franklin County Civil War Days,

south side of Smith Mountain Lake, VA. 7:00 to 9:00.

Music by the Lone Ivy String Band.

Wonderful crowd of reenactors and civilians filled up the tent.

Good food, good weather, great people, and the band was terrific!

September 29, 2012 Dance demonstration and audience participation in conjunction with

Rappahannock County's Civil War Day, Visitor's Center and Library

on Route 211, near Little Washington, VA. 11:00 to 5:00.

Thanks to Dave & Charmaine, Audrey & Robin for encouraging passersby to dance.

October 23-24, 2012 Dance demonstration and audience participation in conjunction with the

Northern Virginia 4-H Center's symposium.

This event was cancelled due to lack of registrations.

November 3, 2012 Civil War Dance in conjunction with the Botetourt Artillery's Civil War Day

at the Layman Family Farm, Montvale, VA. 7:00 to 9:45.

Nice crowd of about 60 willing dancers. The sawdust on the barn floor got to be

an issue as we kicked up lots of dust along with our heels.

Good fun with cake walks thrown in.

December 2, 2012 Leading a "barn dance" for the Virginia Home Educators Christmas Social

at the Calvary Christian Center, Harrisonburg, VA. 7:15 to 9:15.

Music by Cami, Zack, Nick, & Chris Galloway; the VA Real Band.

Had about 70 up on the floor for the Grand March and 40-50 for every other dance.

Lots of fun with young and old dancing together. Thanks to Dave, Amanda, Mike & Loretta,

Dan & Christie Anne, Audrey & Robin, Stacey, Larry & Linda, Sara Smith.

December 9, 2012 Leading a Civil War Dance for the Burke Historical Society's Christmas fundraiser

at the Woods Community Center in Fairfax County, VA. 3:15 to 5:00.

Thanks Mike & Loretta, Audrey & Robin for leading the small crowd

through the Grand March and 6 other dances interspersed with fund-raising business.
