Wind Tunnel Testing

We experimented our design of the body in the wind tunnel on campus. We made several foam models at 1/20 scale with a silicon mold we also made. To test we first had to calibrate the LVDT sensor so that would could compare the voltage output with a given force. Then with three different models we recorded Lift forces, Drag forces, and Rolling resistances. We could also compare how the placement of different parts affect these forces, like scoops, wind screen, and placement of tires and axles. We also placed the model close to the floor of the tunnel so that we could see how angle of attack affected lift and drag. We also observed how being so close to the ground affects boundary conditions.
