Setting up shop..

Room 8 in the Science building at SFSU is in the basement, it is not that big. This room has been used as storage and was jam packed when we started our project. We cleared out all the chairs, old equipment, and junk. We had to keep track of all the stuff that was moved out of the room, a requirement to use the room. We then set up a network repeating a local wifi signal using a hacked firmware on our router. We set up two computers, one next to a desk and the other at the opposite end of the room next to the electrical lab we set up. We moved the TIG welder down into the room and set up a welding table. We needed to rewire the panel for the machine. We blew the circuit for our own safety and switched out the breaker and searched for the feeder panned. We requested the help of the facilities dept. in exchange of a case of bud. We got it all done in a day, if we put a work order in we still would be waiting for power. Next we set up a ventilation system. We noticed that we needed to draw air in and would open up a door and window across the hall to cause a cross draft, we also ducted an exhaust fan to pull air out of the room. We set up the cabinets and cleared out all the storage places so we could organize all of the things we knew that we were going to accumulate. We would all meet here everyday and spend many long hours working on our project and help many other people in the department with there projects. It has become a bit of a hang out spot, which makes it hard to get work done, but it has been a lot of fun.
