About Us

The Ramsey Lake Stewardship Committee was established at a community meeting held on July 15, 2010. The Committee is made up of citizens who will help protect and improve the health of the Ramsey Lake watershed and its drinking water quality by providing citizens with information about the lake and by speaking on behalf of the lake. We will provide information to citizens about how daily activities can directly affect the health of the lake:  whether it’s rinsing soapy cars on the street, which then drains directly into Ramsey Lake or fertilizing lawns or removing trees and natural vegetation along the shoreline. We will also provide Sudburians with information about the current trends in levels of phosphorus and sodium in the Lake and advocate for reductions in both.  We hope to foster stewardship for Ramsey Lake in those who have an impact on the Ramsey Lake watershed but live miles from shore, in the 60,000 people who drink the water, in those who enjoy the many activities in and around the lake, summer and winter, and in homeowners who live along the shore. If we keep our lake healthy, the lake will keep us healthy.
