Hiking The Pieterpad In Stages
In 2019 I started the Pieterpad, due to moving chores I only did 7 stages. But in 2020 I was able to hike the rest of the Pieterpad finishing in the North of The Netherlands. It is was dry till 1 km before the end of the last stage and on one other stage there was also a bit of rain. At the bus station when I hiked my last stage the rain became tropical rain. It ended the Dutch way, with rain!
Public Transport To And From Pieterpad
I started at the start of the second book of the Pieterpad and sometimes changed the order, due to lack of public transport in the weekend. Sometimes I was in the train more than I had to hike, but I enjoyed it a lot. The stages around Maastricht, Assen, Groningen and Pieterburen I stayed in a hotel, because I couldn't reach Eindhoven or Utrecht on time anymore with public transport. It is no problem, because there are more hikers doing it this way and I always meet them on all the hiking paths. At the Camino I usally sat in the garden and talked to the other pilgrims.
