Artist Statement
My work reflects my strong interest int he preservation of wildlife habitat as well as both the natural landscape and the managed environment of the garden. I explore the textures and colors of the landscape through tapestry weaving and traditional rug hooking.
My miniature tapestries invite the viewer up close to consider the tranquility found in nature. Using a variety of textured yarns allows me to interpret these important landscapes. Traditional rug hooking also allows me to interpret impressions of the landscape through the use of recycled and repurposed fabrics and fibers.
