2023 Sprint RESULTS

*Certificate Winners*

The full list of sprint entries can be found in a posting on groups.io Feld Hell Club

20 entries, 3 from EU, 17 from NA,      For the Annual Survey:
90 percent want to keep the Sprints "Themed" (different each month).
17 users report FlDigi as their software of choice, 3 are using Ham Radio Deluxe.
A HRDeluxe user would like to be able to generate text logs a bit easier.
There is info on the website to generate a cabrillo file using HRDeluxe, but it could be expanded on. HRD users, please send me a note on how you generate your log.
Most of the contacts were on 20m, with a smattering on 40m and 15m.

Thanks to our 4 Turkeys this year:  OZ1IDC (Per), KO4YIN (Lori), K8RGI (Robert), and AE5ZA (Cliff).   All our entries were NA QRO this year.

We had 12 entries this year, 10m, 15m and 40m were the prominent bands on the logs submitted.

September "Full Day of Hell" Sprint

For the first time we had more DX entries than NA entries, and in 3 categories.

September "Hell on Wheels" Sprint

Mark N3HND activated a POTA with QRP power, so really racked up the points, but was unable to beat Steve's score with 11Q's, mostly on 20m. Thanks to the 15 members who submitted entries.

August "Grid Locator" Sprint

Only a few entries. Summer Holidays I guess

July "WAA" Sprint

There were no entries in the QRP categories this sprint. Had to recalculate some of the entries as the multiplier count was off. In this sprint, the mult count was the number of countries you worked in the Americas plus 1. The companion sprint in the spring is the Worked All Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania Sprint. Nice to see some new calls submitting entries. Thanks to those who participated.

July "Early Bird" Sprint

We had 5 entries all in the QRO class - 1 DX and 4 NA, Maybe it was a bit early for most.

We had 7 entries, but no one was wet at all. Not the best turnout, but it was a new sprint for us, with a new scoring scheme and new multiplier factor.  This might have to be modified next year to make it a bit more of our usual exchange of info, perhaps using the count of discrete GRID squares as the mult. Thanks to those who participated.

May "Hamvention" Sprint

4 entrants this month, we may have to change the sprint to another theme or change the time frame to increase participation. (We have had a suggestion to just have one 4 hour sprint)

We had both good and bad news. The good news was the amount of EU entries, the bad news was the minimal participation. I guess the band conditions weren't the best.

Thanks to those who participated and sent in entries. May is the Hamvention Sprint.

All classes of stations were represented this month, also almost half of entrants were EU stations.

March "Leprechaun" Sprint

We only had two active leprechauns for this sprint. Thanks to all who participated.

February "BINGO" Sprint

We had 15 entries in spite of the CW contest going on, with 5 DX entries (the most we've had in a long while).
QRP stations' incentive is an extra 2 QSO points per contact,  we encourage the use of TxID to identify in what mode you are calling CQ. It helps other stations to know there is some Feld Hell going on!
If anyone wants to be a Leprechaun next month, please drop Niece KA1ULN a line to coordinate.
Thanks to all that participated.  73 Paul, VA3PC

January "Low Down" Sprint   Jan 20-21, 2022

We had 6 entries in this year’s Low Down Sprint.

The Low Down Sprint is focused on using the 40m, 80m, and 160m bands with more points awarded per QSO on 80m and 160m.

Thanks to all who participated.
