The activities below are recommended to assist volunteers become more effective ARES members. These activities are not required but are highly encouraged. We are most effective when we are trained and informed.
Sign up for the ARESNEHC mailing list.
The ARESNEHC mailing list is the primary mode of communication outside of the monthly meetings and weekly nets.

Attend the monthly meeting.
The meeting occurs on the first Tuesday of each month at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church located at 1901 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood, Tx
Participate in the weekly net held each Thursday at 8pm.

Practice recording the check in's in preparation for serving as Net Control

Register on the STX ARES Information Depot to record training and skill accomplishments
Register with ARES Connect South Texas. Look for opportunities to volunteer. It is an excellent way to practice communication skills.
