Film Studies

This course requires students to experiment individually and This is a Grade 11 Open course designed to introduce films as media texts to be studied and analyzed.  A variety of films will be viewed and discussed. As students build their understanding of film techniques, narrative structure, filmmaking roles, sound and visual elements, etc. they will become critical and perceptive observers of film.  Through this process, students will develop the skills required to analyze, evaluate, discuss, and write about film as text.
