AUDITION SCHEDULE
VOCAL/ROLE AUDITIONS: Monday, November 13 or Tuesday, November 14 in the Drama room 164
Mandatory. Prepare 1 minute of a song, sung a capella, similar in style and range to this year’s musical. Expect us to test your range as well so we can determine which choral parts to give you when singing in group numbers. We may ask you to read some of these Sides: no memorization needed, but if you want a speaking role, you should review those parts before the audition.
DANCE AUDITION: Wednesday, November 15 on the Stage
Mandatory. One hour learning a dance routine to be performed in small groups. Wear comfortable clothing and bring jazz shoes if you have them. The purpose is to gauge the level of abilities for each cast member so the choreographer can make creative decisions on style, difficulty, feature moments, positioning, etc.
CALL BACKS: Thursday, November 16 in the Drama room 164
Mandatory. If you are asked to “Call Backs” for a role, we will email you and attach the side(s) and vocal section(s) to prepare in advance. On your call back day, we will teach you the vocal section and then you will present both the side(s) and sing the vocal section. If you are not asked to call backs, that does not mean you did not get a role. Sometimes we just need to see auditionees one more time before deciding on a specific role. You should get familiar with the Album (music and vocals.)

CAST LIST POSTING

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Cast Size: Large (20-50 performers)
IN REGARDS TO GENDER:
Open to gender-blind and re-gendered casting for nearly all roles. You should audition for the roles you are attracted to. However, please choose roles that best reflect your vocal talents. Sometimes we can slightly adjust the key of a character's solo song, but we prefer to keep accompaniment in the original key. As you get to know the show and the music, please pay attention to the characters' vocal ranges and required skill sets. Just because you like a role doesn't mean you are suited for it, and you want to have the strongest audition possible!
