Mission of the Quilt Show

We have organized this biennial Monument Modern Quilt show to share modern quilting with Coloradans in a beautiful outdoor setting. We invite all modern quilters, regardless of age, in Colorado to submit their quilts using the form below.

(Please note: We are a not-for-profit organization. We are asking for a $5 per quilt fee simply to cover the costs incurred with hosting this quilt show.)

Our Definition of Modern Quilts

Modern quilts are primarily functional and inspired by modern design. Modern quilters work in different styles and define modern quilting in different ways, but several characteristics often appear which may help identify a modern quilt. These include, but are not limited to: the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space, alternate grid work and a modern take on traditional block.

A huge thank you goes out to all our volunteers who made the 2021 Monument Modern Quilt Show a HUGE success!

To all our quilters who submitted their work, we give you a massive round of applause. Your talent is second to none and we know the public loved to see it!
